Privacy

Last updated October 11, 2026. Application Desk is in private beta.

What we collect

The Chrome extension reads a page only when you click its Capture button, and only the job posting on that page. It doesn't record your browsing history, run in the background, or read any other site.

How it's used

Only to provide Application Desk's features to you: sorting the postings you capture, building tailored resumes and cover letters from your own documents, and tracking your applications.

To do that, your profile and the posting are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic acts as a service provider and doesn't use API data to train its models. Files are stored on our web host in a private folder that isn't reachable from the web.

Google Drive (optional)

If you connect Google Drive, Application Desk asks Google for two permissions only: access to the files and folders the app itself creates in your Drive (Google's drive.file permission), and your Google account's email address, so Settings can show which account is connected. It can't see, read or change any other file in your Drive.

It uses them for one thing: keeping a folder, Application Desk/Current Upload, holding the resume and cover letter for the job you're applying to, so you can upload them to application forms. It replaces that folder's files when you ask it to (or when you open a job's posting, if you turned that on). Your Google sign-in is stored encrypted, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings, which also revokes the app's access at Google. Files already in the folder stay in your Drive until you delete them.

What we never do

Limited Use

The use of information received from the Application Desk Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Application Desk's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from your Google account is used only to keep your upload folder, is never transferred to anyone else, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.

Your controls

In Settings you can download everything we hold about you (your documents, generated files and tracker) as a zip file, revoke the extension's access, disconnect Google Drive, and delete your Application Desk data permanently.
